Hi everyone I'm Nick from South Australia. I found a 1964 Pontiac Star Chief in a shed, in a one horse town out in the South Australian dessert and bought it.
I'd never seen a full size Pontiac before until that point or ever driven a left hook car as all cars in AUS are right hand drive and I've enjoyed tripping people out down here ever since....
Just trying to learn more about the Pontiac and the 389 so I can give her the respect and care she deserves..

They came from factory with a plastic toothed cam timing gear. The teeth would crack off, fall into pan & the car would not start. New gears are steel. It was probobly already replaced, but not too hard a job to pull timing cover to check.
