I have been building this car for a little over a year off and on.I sold my old Roadster and was itching to start another project.I wanted to build something that might have run on the lakes, late '30's/early '40's style..Banger powered, mechanical brakes..you get the idea.A dry lakes taxi kinda deal.

Anyway,I found a good deal on a chassis and extra parts..

The motor in it was a boat anchor.Again,a great deal popped up,this time in the form of a rebuilt motor and trans..

After some cleaning, parts hunting and tinkering,I ended up with this..

Okay now you'll have to define Jingletown to everybody who doesn't know. I guess they could google it though.

    Nice old style build.

Before anyone says something about the taped numbers, they will be replaced with painted ones soon enough. The 512 number also has a meaning. My father, who is the reason why I love hot rods, was born on May 12th 1929..5-12 and the cars a 1929.Cheesy?maybe to some, but thats the story..Jingletown is an area of Oakland,ca. where my parents grew up in the 1930's before moving after Dad came back from serving in Korea..Hence the name of the car.Again, cheesy :)

Back on track, yesterday a club brother and I got it running properly...

Thats Sean, bringing it home after a blast down the block..

There is a problem out back,so we are going to swap out the rearend with another on hand..Then there will be plenty of backroad test runs..

I'm a Road Devils CC member. We trace our roots back to 1946 in So Cal.A while back, one of my fellow members found an old Road Devils plaque from Russetta Timing at a swap meet.He loaned it to me for my car..How cool is that?Looks right at home behind this thing...Thanks Brother!

Interior and tonneau are last on the list..I'll post some photos once I get it back..

Looks like more fun than should be allowed with your clothes on. I've got everything but the body for a similar build.
