Would this be considered plug and go?

As long as you don't have the original pop-out switch and buy the recommended shaft, yes. I have this installed in my model A, so far so good :D

Looks like I am going to be dealing with allot of surface rust on the frame, front and back, suggestions? Wire wheel? Electrics sander and lots of elbow grease?

I used blue stripping wheels like the attached. Good at removing paint and surface rush, but is easy on the frame itself. They come in different sizes, so can be used in a drill or attached to an angle grinder.

I then used POR 15 to paint the frame.

So she finally arrived, word of advice..JJ moving and auto transport in Toronto Canada...stay away from them.

Overall very happy with her, battery was dead so couldn't start her, the transport previously mention had no idea how to start a model A so that would explain the battery.

Pretty big dent in the driver door from someone push against the spare tire. Washed the salt off her, tomorrow try to get her started and in the garage, then wheels off, fenders off and see where to start sanding...everywhere I imagine lol

I feel ya on shipping companies, had my share of fun with them too. Looks like a nice start. The door will take a little work and should have been covered by the shipping company. You can see it is not there in the "before" photos. Pain in the ass I bet to deal with it though.

Might be easier to re-skin it. I would try the mallet first though. My first model A showed up with a interior soaked in gas because the shippers could not figure out the gas tank valve.

As soon as the shipper came the guy I bought it off emailed with picks showing the flat bed with bald tires, things was a moving death trap, then the car was stranded in Toronto for a week, everyday different story on when it would be here.no word, driver of the shipping truck ran out of cell phone minutes ( wtf) and couldn't call me to say when he would be in..and they fried my battery and caved in my door...awesome

Yeah, I feel ya. Once you find a good guy, try to deal with him always. Besides that B.S. you do have a cool piece of tin in your hands.

  19. That door lookes like it has been wrapped around the spare wheel ?

What is an in-driveshaft overdrive. Can I use one in my '40 2-dr with stock trans and banjo ?

Yes it is pretty bad, going to take a rubber mallet it to it and see how we do...

  23. Yes. The mitchell overdrive is available for Model A and for flathead V8. Macs and many other suppliers have them.

I'm cutting the nut off and drilling the screw unless someone has a better plan. The whole piece is turning on the nut and it's in the frame so can't get at the other end, and the screw is striped..badly
