Dropped by this afternoon and had the opportunity to check it out. Very nice whack. It sets just nice and after the body was set on it definitely had the look! This is going to be another nice one.

I had a little time tonight so I started making a bed for the truck. I'm using a repop tailgate but making everything else. I started with a nice clean sheet of 16 gauge and sheared and bent some sides and stake pockets.

My friend Ryan has a stock bed so I went over to his place and made some side profile templates of his stake pickets.

I transferred the pattern to the metal I bent then removed the extra meat. I tried to cut under to bends on top so when pressed down all welding and grinding would be on the flat area on the sides with the nice bends on top along the edges untouched.

Looks great! If you have a bead roller, you can add the style lines to the bed sides to tie it in with the cab. Just a thought.

Its Eastwood's Oldsmobile gold. It is a metallic and actually is the engine paint that I'll be using to spray the block. I wanted the wheels to match so I just used the same paint. Covers great but runs real easy. I had to do about 5 light coats. I sprayed like I normally do on the back of the wheels first and it ran on one of them. After making spray gun adjustments it flowed nice.... And my wheels are good up to 2000 degrees too. Haha

Here's the link to the paint I got. They could probably mix it in single stage or base/clear if you want.

Thanks. I'm in the process of coming up with a paint scheme for my truck and was thinking Metallic gold scallops on satin black.

Was sick with pneumonia the past couple weeks... But better now so back on it

I made some tailgate hinges for the body and hinged the tailgate. Welded on the chain brackets to the stake pockets and installed chains.

Also chopped my windshield frame and installed the door latches and window regulators.

Going to skin the doors and install cab corners next

The windshield hinge studs coming out of the A pillars were shot so I fixed them and hinged the windshield. The 34 windshield frame that came with the cab was rotted bad so I used one from a model A coupe. Surprisingly all the mounting holes at the top where it bolts to the header were identical and I didn't have to redrill anything. It fit like a glove. The only real noticeable difference was that the model A one has that 2 inch lip at the bottom on the inside that tucks in under the dash when closed .

The weather was decent today so I rolled it outside for the first time so I could eyeball a couple things
