    You have to wonder if Ford's current love for OHC engines has its roots in the 427 cammer. GM and Chrysler still are pushrod-based when it comes to V8's but Ford is OHC.

    I'm not a fan of Ford's OHC modern engines....I feel they make good HP but are 'soft' at lower RPM. My current 6.8L V10 F-250 will pull just about anything, if you let it rev up, but as a driver my old Dodge V10 was much nicer to drive due to its low end grunt. And the 5.4L trucks are even mushier down low.

    It goes back even farther than that...
    In the 1940's Ford was producing a 500+ hp,overhead cam V8 with lots of trick alloys and performance parts.
    It was known as the GAA series,and it was used in Sherman tanks.
