Hey, i stumbled across this page while searching for my grandfather Joe Deaton. He drove the Tom Cat race car in the 60's. Do you have any pictures or articles about his racing? I seen 1 that you posted. Thanks

I love the teardrop hood on it.

  7. Really nice Merc you have there! I like the steel rims and poverty hubcaps! Just curious, since from the outside it looks , to me at least, the way it could have been delivered from the factory. (less bias plys) but the door mirror looks out of place. You did not want to go with a NOS chrome mirror? I like the factory emblems also!

I finally got to drive mine around a little today. I'm on my third set of front wheel cylinders in the past 6 months. Now it sounds like the water pump is going. In addition to the clutch and power steering control valve.

I love this thread. I am on the search for a 64 Marauder. Love these cars. I am in my mid 30's but I grew up in Daytona and when I was 14 I saw one race the road track during the vintage car race at the speedway. I was hooked instantly.

  14. Too bad you're not in Ontario I'd tell my dumbass brother to sell you his. It's a 4 door HT Park Lane Marauder In Bittersweet/ Samoan Coral.

Yeah Ontario is quite a clip away. Love that color combo, but if I had my way I would probably try to locate a 2 door.

  16. Here's a pic. It's a dead ringer for the car Mercury used to advertise with.

I'll sell a whole complete 64 for $4500. What model Marauder? Different trim levels had different trim. Monterey vs Montclair vs Park Lane.

I had a '64 Park Lane Marauder for a short while, a long while ago. Tag said it was originally Pink Frost, but as I had it it was a darker blue. 300/390, buckets/console. Neat car, great lines. '64 is the top '60s Merc, IMO.

Wow, bucket seats and console. That means you had a S55 Park Lane. From the doors back, much of the 63 and 64 trim is the same depending on model.

Wow that is nice. Had a stock one myself. The fiberglass hood drove the happy radio nuts. Tried every old trick in the books to get rid of the static nothing worked until I scrapped off a bit of paint on the "screen" type material on the bottom side of the hood and grounded it. That worked, it was weird you could see what looked like screen from an old screen door sandwiched between the top layer of the hood and the lower reinforcing ribs
