My first vehicle was a swb stepside version of that truck, painted john deere green. That old 225 slant six put up with all the heck a 16 year old boy could dish out with no problems....until I yanked it out while Dad was in the hospital and stuffed a 383 in it. When he got home and saw what I'd done, he took it from me, said it had too much power. One of these days, I'll pull it out of my private junkyard and put it back on the road....
Cool truck! I've always like those trucks, but never been able to get one yet. Slant sixes are getting to be a rarity. You can find lots of hot rod parts for them still Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I have a '65 I bought from a HAMB'er but yours has a front end like the '64 I used to have.... here's the '65. I milled the head on the /6 .100" to get close to 9:1 compression with stock pistons. I ran the Clifford 4bbl intake and header but now am switching to the Offy dual 1bbl. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
