Really nice !! you guys got it going on.

 

The center piece is almost done. We need to make the transmission mount on the underside, then the mockup motor and transmission can be removed. We also made motor mounts, Martin had a grate idea with the piece with the rivets which I think turned out grate.

The trans bracket still needs some reinforcement on the topside . The thickness is 1/4"

Awesome work!! One question on the corner welding of the frame parts is that mig welded?

 

No, everything is done by the Tig ,even the weld on post #51.

Been fabricating since 69 & going to shows since before that & this chassis is the NICEST one that I have ever seen although Im a little biased towards the dimple die work as several years ago I built the "Cheesegrater" a fully louvered 32 hiboy roadster with LOTS of dimple dieing lots of uniqueness on this one thats for sure keep the pics coming please

 

Not much more that can be said about how killer your skills are on the build.....As it all has been posted....I like the crossmember set up you built......Very nice design and workmanship.

Almost out of the jig.....

The arms from the rear axle to the leaf spring needs to be fabricated, and some adjustments to the front beam has to be done.

 

Today we make them Rear Leaf Brackets .

 

Out of the jig and the front axel in place. Will redo the rear panhard and rear shocks needs to be squeezed in. Then on to the body...

 

Your fab skills and designs are great. As others have commented, one of the nicest 32 frames on the HAMB. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the build. Thanks for posting.

 

I have a 'portable' frame jig also...(it's on 4 casters that have 'feet' alongside, so I can level it anywhere solidly on my perfectly level floor!)

I also have a C-5 airplane inner cargo door that's 7/8" thick, honeycombed aluminum. I use it on top of the jig when no frame is on there, a nice big assembly table.

The '32 frame you're doing is a work of art. I strongly approve of your radius-welding method.

 

I just found this today, Now that your all most finished with this chassis , I'd like the same thing only with Ford Motor and Tranny mounts , I'll even give you more time than this one took if you need it,, Great detail and work......
