Here's another shot of John Cort's Thunderbolt. It was the former Dick Walter's Ford car originally raced by Carl Moyer.

I've got a 2-15-64 Drag News article that says Hemphill-McCombs would soon be debuting a Thunderbolt. I've also got articles in Drag News & National Dragster showing that Clester was still running the Wickersham tbolt until late 64. How is this possible?

there is an interesting story at www.racing.ford.com about how DST displayed the 2015 Mustang on the Empire State building today. They also placed the 1965 Mustang there when the car was originally released 50 years ago.

Here are some shots of the Joe Brown Ford T-Bolt as the restoration is finally getting started. It has sat pretty much like this for 40 yrs.

What's the history? Why did it sit so so long untouched? How much of it is missing and was it ever cut up/upgraded? We need to hear the story, Tommy, you know that :D

Well, he traded for it in the 70's. It was all together at least once and went up and down the road a few times. Way back then money was a little tight for a young guy. He's maybe 57 now so you do the math. He started a business and gathered some other projects that got in the way of this one. The business is very successful now and he is able to do this car the right way. He has every part for this car. It is just being blown apart to mount it on the rotisserie. The goal is to at least have a painted roller for the Fairlane Nats this year. Not tubbed or cut up at all. It has a few typical 60's drag race mods but nothing fatal.:p

Yeah, thanks. I was hoping someone was going to post pics of it from back in the day. How many owners has it had? It looks really nice, does it look as good in person as it does in the pics? Looks like it ran S/S A, was it ever converted to a 4 speed?

It sounds like it has the right owner. Hung on to it thru all these years until he could afford to do it right, damn good on him. Are you going to post progress pics, Tommy?

The Joe Brown Thunderbolt soon became the Ken O'Keefe Thunderbolt. It was converted to a 4-speed. The same owner/driver was Walt Derringer. The dealership was still in the same location, just under new management. Along with the new lettering came a new Poppy Red paint job.

One more photo tonight from back in the day. Walt Derringer from Louisville racing Doug Greenfield from Nashville. A lot of great S/S racing went on at US 60 Dragway in Hardinsburg, KY back in the 60's.

I have seen all of those pics except the shot with the Kendall Oil decal on the quarter. I'm gonna try and keep up with the progress but it might be tough until it come back from the painter.
