I vote frame height channel with split bones no chop.
That way your grill will line up better too.

I'd chop it. Lighter, less air resistance. After all we are hot rodders and they tend to look cute not chopped. Just show some restraint on how much.

That is a tuff call. You know that it will continue to look bad ass either way. Good call on changing the 4 bars. If you do, take some pictures.

I think you've got a great looking period correct hot rod. If you wanna do anything, change the 4 bars, and/ or lower it. I'd prefer to see it channelled rather than chopped.

Looks great.. Now about that chopped radiator shell...

  13. I doubt that you would make your decision based upon what people on this board have to say, but if it were mine, I wouldn't chop it just to be chopping something. Either you really want a chopped coupe or you need to leave it as it is until you really want it lowered.

    no-chop car looks great

  15. I like 'em chopped!! However, seems you are rather undecided so for now I would drive it and enjoy it until a time you feel like you can't live without it chopped. It looks really darn good anyway so I would leave it for now and have fun!!! BTW...when the time comes, save the pieces!!!!! ( I did )Tim

  16. That's a beautiful Model A coupe. I'd say about 4 inches should do it. Turn beautiful into fantastic. It's a hot rod.

Why is the grille shell chopped so low? If it were me, id get a taller shell that lines up and NOT chop the roof. You see so many chopped I think its cool to see one that isn't. Personally I think a chrome 30-31 grille would look killer on there

  19. Be different and leave it, bitchen the way it is...................COOL !!!! JW

Can't go wrong with this advice.

  21. No chop!! But, If you do lose control and decide to chop it, then I would suggest a 3 inch chop. Then consider selling me the metal you eliminated, so that I can raise the roof back to stock height on the one I regretfully chopped 31 years ago!!!

No chop for you....i saw a 30 a in a mag. Lately, with vent windows added to the doors. Either 55 chevy or ford. Fit right in. It was an older car that was restored to it's origional look.....this change would be cool on that car.. I have a 30 tudor i cut 2", and went below the back window, but it was not all painted at the time....be cute, aon't cut.....mlmlml

So do you notice much difference between how it handles with the hair pins vs. the four link?

If it was needing restored I would chop it but I sure wouldn't cut into that nice paint. If you need to make some changes having the headers coated or chromed would really make it pop.

When in doubt, you always chop a car. Just keep the pieces in case you want to put it back to original.
