So I was able to finally button up the rear end today, made some shock mounts from some L clips that we use at work & of course reinforced them a little bit. I was able to use an existing hole where the original knee shocks were mounted to on the chassis. I also put the new wheels on to make sure they are centered in the wheel opening. This weekend I should be able to mount the transmission & hopefully send out the drive shaft to get cut!
It's nice to have every other Friday off! After dropping my boy off at kindergarten I was able to tear into the car. I attempted to notch the original crossmember, but no luck there I had to cut it & was able to stuff the transmission, barely. I had to step down the e-brake brackets in order for it to be useable and clear the future mounting bolts!
I got the new shortened drive shaft back today. if all else falls into place, I should be back on the road this coming week.
Yep, just ran across this myself. Beautiful lines. Chevy should have done it this way from the factory.
That chop looks sweet bro, this thing is coming along real nice, please keep the updates and the pics coming. Gotta dig this Chevy, great job bro. I'm gone like a thief in the night
