1949 cadillac hydramatic will it fit a 1948 cadillac

i have a question about a 1949 trans will it fit a 1948 cadillac flathead?
i have 2 fore sale and got a call today .he have a trans where reverse dont work.

 

I checked my Hollander Interchange Manual and they say 46-50 Hydramatic will interchange. Hollander Identical Transmissions #26 from the 23rd Edition. There is a note that reverse is weak in these units.

 

ok thanks for info not easy to find parts in sweden that fits odometer says 57000miles when wrecked so this unit was working when wrecked .
it was out my 1949 sedanette who now have a 1962 390 with th700r4.
