Projects Rear Spring rust

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 1oldtimer, Mar 9, 2014.

  1. So how much rust is too much to use, I have a 8 leaf Model T rear spring that has rust pits on the flat areas of the leafs (pics to follow). I was wondering if they were too rusted to use since they're from a lighter weight car to start with. The car in question that the spring is going into is a 1928 Tudor.

Would need to be fairly severe to render unusable. Awaiting pics though.

Have a spring shop look at them. I think I would use new springs myself.
