I hope there is no surcharge for pre-removal of the engine?!

I'm inclined to think this came off the back of a pickup and not out of that shoebox. No sign of a radiator, fluids , exhaust, never
    mind it losing the transmission.

I thought I could see Maggie Thatcher and Queen Elizabeth checking out this car. I had to look twice to check.

  5. Wow, I didn't notice the resemblance until you mentioned it. They sure do look like the young version of both ladies.

Nope, it came out of that car. My dad took that photo.

I thought I read/heard somewhere that this changeover went fairly smooth, with only a couple of minor incidents. I was in elementary school at the time, so I don't really remember it.

Ha Ha! (I don't LOL) The idea of Thatcher and QE2 as old wrenching buddies intrigued me. The Queen was a truck mechanic during WWII. I googled the image and it's from the State of WI Archives. It's 1942: Bouri Auto Girl Mechanics.

It does look like the Queen but it's a local WI girl.
