Always liked the '55/'56 Mercs, that one's pretty cool.

What brand of rockers did you use?

Were they the style that goes over the original or did you have to remove the original to install the new rocker?

all my stuff came from EMS, Im cutting out all the old stuff, it had been patched up at some point in the past and it was a hack job. Im having really good luck with the EMS panels.
I also had to replace the front crossmember. It was a perfect fit from Goodell Mfg.

I am doing front floor boards, toe boards, inner and outer rockers and the front floor braces too. The front floor braces came from EMS also.

Man I have to admit, I thought it would look ridiculous with so much out of the top. How very wrong I was! That is a fantastic looking Merc.
You are doing some great work too, cleaning it up and eliminating all the dodgy work from previous owners, Cant wait to see this one done!

Finally ! The last of the rust repair is over. Now I have something to bolt the bottom of the fender to so I can gap the door and the drivers side rocker panel. Its almost time for some POR to cover all this up!

Back on the ground! I thought I was all done with the floors but I found a couple little spots that need fixing. When the whole front floors are out its easy to over look a few spots that are about the size of a dime. But when you put the work lights under and turn off the garage lights every little pinhole shows up. Glad all the major stuff is knocked out.
Im also really glad I got the OEM style skirts for it. I

  21. Nice! My Mom and Dad drove a new '56 Montclair Convertible when I was born. Always had a soft spot for one, but could never put a car and the cash together at the same time. It was Sea Foam green and Dad had it two toned the week he bought it. I think I still have a few pictures of it somewhere.

    It now has REAL glass!
For those who may wonder, DEEP ELLUM glass did the windshield. First try no less.
Robert is the man when it comes to chopping a curved windshield.
Time to buff the paint now that its in.....
