So I know I might be over thinking this but here it goes... So I bought a lokar 23 in shifter for my aod trans Manufacturer's Part Number:ATS6AODANM. It comes with a selector shaft but in their pictures for selector shaft install it shows it facing up and my original points down. Do I need to change the position of it to the up position for it to work or keep it as it was in the down position ? If anyone has done this drop in for some help thanks. If the directions say to put there arm up rite for that trans what's the problem do you think it's gona put park all the way back toward the seat? On my c4 its up rite and park is toward the dash.i used a 16 in lokar shifter. Jake
Man I feel like an idiot ! Lol the selector shaft that comes with the shifter has three Allen screws that allow you to rotate the way it points after it is installed in the trans. Here's a pic I just flipped it up, the whole shaft can't turn once it's aligned with the gear selector plate. you can see that it is now pointing up . Thanks for dropping by for help, my rookie mistake lol Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
That's exactly what I thought if I left it down since it would be 180 degrees off what they say but I totally missed those three empty Allen screw holes to change the direction of it . Hahaha sometimes the more you look the worst it gets on your eyes lol Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Just goes to show, there are no dumb questions! (now dumb looks, that's different) LOL My Gramma used to say, if they would cut down all those trees, I might be able to see the forest! LOL
Oh man that's good lol ! We'll hope this helps someone in the future Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
So it's been a while since I posted anything kinda been stretching this swap because of work but here's my update. . So far all I have left is to fill it up with some gas and some little adjusting here and there and it's ready to run. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
