Hi, Ford and Chrysler cars back in the sixties/seventies were predominately 5 on 4.5". Should be able to find something that will fit. Rick

Here is my Survivor 1956 also used CLR to bring the paint back some. The truck sat for over 30 years behind a barn.

Not as bad as yours but pretty close. I have been using RatWax to keep it, and it has worked pretty good the truck sits out side and been through a fairly wet winter so far this year and is still holding up.

That ought to make a pretty decent driver. The keep it simple with a sb and T5 should work great. I had a 55 about 35 years ago that I wished I had kept and rebuilt the engine in but I was broker than a church mouse in those days. That was one smooth riding truck with no squeaks what so ever.
Yeah its coming out pretty good for what it is. The small block should be nice power for the old girl and the 5 speed should keep it fun. I'm looking for a nice bench seat to put in it. Anyone have any ideas as to what make should work in it. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

nice project, mite try an early Ford Ranger or S-10 p.u. seat or a 3rd seat from a Chevy Astro/GMC Safari van, they work great, early ones have no headrests and are comfortable, seat back is thin and folds flat onto seat cushion for behind seat access. ...here's an Astro van seat in a 50 GMC.
Nice work on restoring the finish on your truck. Not to butt in, but I'm rebuilding a '55 R-122. I'm just repairing the holes, pounding the dents, and doing a full mechanical restoration. I've been wondering how I was going to cut some of the rust without destroying what's left of the bushed on paint from way back when. I can't wait to get home and pick up some CLR. Here's what it looked like when I brough it home last January: From a few weeks ago: I rebuilt the SD240 and T-9 4spd (straight cut gears), 4.10 rear, and the entire braking system. I hope to be able to plate it and drive it in the next few months.

Here are a couple of pictures of my Grandfather's 54 International. I can't get my Uncle who now owns it to part with it so I guess this is its fate. Even the mint nose in the back of it that my Brother gave him is becoming junk. What a shame. I have fond memories of riding in this truck with my Grandfather when I was little
fatblock,...nice truck and it's a shorty, those are kinda scarce...just picked up a 54 and a 55 pickups, found a decent shortbox , gonna shorten one frame and use it to build one truck eventually....would like to use a 300 Ford six or maybe a 292 Chevy inline just to be different.
