    I have to agree. There are many threads here that can focus on any automobile segment or type of car activity. Vintage shots from days gone by should be just that...a wide range of images from our interesting past.

    This car was built and driven by Bill Drake who still runs an engine shop in Rochester, NY. Later in life it was owned by Ron Podsiadly, also of Rochester, who used it as a street rod (please do not take offense to this term). I'm not certin what happened to it after that. Ron, who is on this site, will probably see this and comment. If not, raymay, might like to chime in.

    Nice postwar 1946-48 Chrysler Sedambulance with the removable passenger side center pillar. I have seen the Desoto version of this but this is the first Chrysler.

    How can you NOT love giant fire breathing piston engines. Would YOU have the balls to drive this over 200mph? Great men and great machines, when piston power was king.

  18. I don't know but his son is in one of the FB groups I am in. Islip Speedway. I will try and find out for you. Sal later drove modifieds for years after the drag strip bit.
