Nice old Binder.

I drove mine for a few years with the flat 6. The first thing I had to do was swap out the old diff. 510's were not driver friendly.
I put an early ford explorer 8.8 in it. It made all the difference, and was a bolt in. It even used the same u joints, and is the same bolt pattern.
You can keep the original look, but totally makes it more practical.
I love these old trucks, I have 2 of them.
Are you still drivin it?

 

Sweet. I have a 48 KB "on ice" that's not quite as nice as yours, but 95% complete. Still not sure if it will be a rod or restoration but I have seen them done with SBC's before and looked good, but if I go that route I was thinking SBF. We dragged mine home behind at the end of a chain and I was amazed at how nicely it steered. lol... got great mileage too! And yes, even up here in farm country they are often referred to as "Cornbinders".

Really Kool find! Your wheel tire combo and elbow grease added to the head turn facter. I was told that the rough Knox was more rare than the smooth. There's a International KB group on here you might wanna search if you havent already.
