Somewhere around here, I still have a program from the 1959 Oakland Roadster Show. Then, about 33 years later attended for about ten years. I have a slew of event t-shirts from these shows, somewhere around here.

  4. That channeled, full-fendered roadster does it for me....

Channeled roadster is way cool, but the last pic with Gene is "the nuts'!! Thanks for the post.

    '54 for me.
The Elmwood Auto Club is very well represented, including AMBR. I'd take Bill Embree's bitching '36 roadster for a "spin" anytime!

Ditto. Never seen that pic of a beaming, handsome, dressed-to-the-nines, young Gene.

Amen, that's my favorite car of the bunch. And who wouldn't want to be there?

Jay, can you get us in? You "Imagination" guys are a big tease!

  10. I can't go past Dick Williams T roadster, but Bill Embree '36 custom a close 2nd.

I was just thinking the other day about how cool it would be to revive the Oakland Roadster Show...not that the GNRS in Pomona isn't fantastic...but it ain't Oakland....

I went to the recent Oakland Roadster Reunion and had a great time. Lots of memorabilia on display and a lot of memories from Oakland alumni! I will post info on next years event when I get it.

  15. I always wanted to go to the Oakland Roadster show as a kid when I was getting hardcore into hot rods. I'll just have to settle for the Grand National Roadster Show...

I had the bitch'n opportunity to take the "real" 1968 AMBR winner to the 1999 Show at the Cow Palace in SF for the 50th. The roadster was the "Wild Dream" by Joe Wilhelm.

I would like info on the next Oakland event. My friend Jeff has the 1956 amber trophy from Eddie Bosio 1932 . WE are searching for pictures of the car on display at the show. We have pictures of the car in the parking lot of the Cow Palace. . Texs1935
