I recently picked up a '49 COE Wrecker and I'm in the process of tearing it down and trying to decide how to go back together with it.

I'll be lurking over there in the COE group gathering ideas and inspiration.

Is this who, I think it is ? If so, i'm hoping you keep that bad boy stock. Maybe upgrade to a 261ci. inline 6, instead of that 235. Split the exhaust, & install a couple of Porter Steel Pack mufflers. Petronix electronic ignition. I know it's your truck, but it'd be a shame to hot rod that one. Just my opinion.

Yes it is Spankster. I concur. It's too complete to hack up. Toying with building a "Cadzilla 261" if I can find a 261 block.

I plan on overhauling everything mechanically and driving it. No cosmetic restore. Just functional, safe and probably slow. It's got a 1955 235 in it. If I could find a 261 before I get too far along rebuilding the 235 I would go with that. Otherwise, all stock.
