There are a bunch of custom grilles here, you have to look for them... they won't talk to you.

Just picked up my first classic project. It's a running 1961 Chevy Apache c30 stepside longbed, 4 speed one ton. with original 6 cyl. and original tranny, Actually runs good. I've always wanted to restore an old pickup truck just never could convince the wife. Well this year I just said the hell with it and started looking. The guy was asking $3500 but I payed $2600. I hear its sort of rare and not many exist. If anyone can please elaborate on this i would appreciate it. I've be trying to research it but haven't seen many. I'll be working on it this weekend and i'll try and post more pics. Needs windshield (already ordered) and plenty of restore fun.

Cool truck. Yeah, the 60-61 "double-bubble" hoods are rather uncommon, especially in 1 ton flavor with a stepside. Hope you plan to put it all back to original condition. It would be really sharp. PM me for more info, if you like.

  11. Hey Tim - that 61 pic at your new digs? Looks good!

I haven't touched the 62 since late last year - got busy and put it on the back burner again.

My heap...Not gonna lie, wish I didn't have to worry about this paint. Nicking patina doesn't give me near as much heartache...

where did you buy your conversion and suspension pieces from? I am buying a 63 1/2 ton that is stock from original owner family. Brakes are shot from storage and I figure go right to disc. i am making my new daily driver.
    I don't need no $30k look a like truck!

Go to 67-72chevy truck forum and it has a FAQ that shows how to convert everything you're asking about. BasicAlly for disk brakes you can take the whole crossmember out of a 70-84 chevy truck and bolt it up, you'll also need the brake booster from the doner truck.

i'm more of a reader then a poster on here, but this is my 63 chevy truck. i have owned this truck over 25 years, and it has gone through many different styles over the years. i built a small garage to work in but it got filled up with junk and now i'm gathering the stuff for a new shop. this time i think i'll shave the rain rail and door handles for starters. when i do start i'll start a thread. by the way i was in my 20's and 30's when these pics where taken, the rest of the years in between then and now where mix matched paint and parts. i did sell the truck after it was painted red. a bunch of kids got a hold of it and tore the shit out of it. a buddies son ended up with it and wanted a 72 camaro i had, it wasn't a hard decision. right now it is in the back yard waiting.

Received on 3/14. I had put in an offer and was shot down. I stood my ground for maybe 12 hours then kicked myself in the a$$ for not upping my bid. I called back later that day and he told me it was sold. When I got home on Friday this was in my garage. My Fiancé and my Mom went in on it for an early birthday present. She let me stew for a couple days before they brought it home. Original owner family truck. Real shop truck. 95% rust free. 80,000 miles. Bare bones. 230 / 3spd. Plans for full front disc swap with 2 1/2" drop and a fuel tank relocation - and then it's my new daily driver.

i'll see if I can find those pics, but I built the headers from scratch so it probably won't help you. also I didn't use inner fenders.
