Are you going to install any type of seal on the vent doors? Did you re-chrome the vent emblems or use the repo dash emblems? If you used the dash ones, 1. did you drill new holes or use the brackets from the originals and 2. Did you put an arc in them like the originals, or did they fit ok flat? Have you fired it up yet?
Hi Sander, I love following this build. I am going to "borrow" a lot from it too! I have a strange thought every time I see your cab. My grandfather brought his family to Canada in 1957 (my dad was 19). They lived near Enkhuizen and Opa was a huge car guy. I am sure he would have noticed the new ladder truck in 52. today i have bleed the brake system so we got brakes now and i have made inner fenders for the rear wheels
painted the inner fenders, and installed both rear fenders with the fender welt and drilled a hole in the cab floor for the wiring coming from the engine i will also use a EZ wiring kit
Awesome build. My friend built a 40 COE about 15 years ago. Another has a 47 COE firetruck. I just realized you were in the Netherlands. That even makes it better, my Mom was born and raised in Soest. Keep up the good work. Looks great!

got some small interior things installed and door latches, and as suggested by Mike i have installed the rearview Mirror on the windshield center pillar and i have some door locks i will use for the side doors

yes i have dough boys build bookmarked , he is making a nice center console but i wont go that route because i have a small seat in the center so i can use some leg room. if you mean the windshield arm nuts, the are chrome
got the side door latches and handle in place and made 2 latches at the back to block the ramps from sliding back into the door
whoohoo !! finaly got the last side panels on 600 holes and rivnuts later and this job is done on this passenger side i have some space where the fuel tank is on the drivers side here i want to create storage for the straps tools etc.
Vettesander, In posting #730, the photos show brake lines done, and were described as copper/nickel type. I've never seen that material used for brake lines here in the US. What is the burst pressure rating for that material. Is it as strong as steel lines for pressure containment? If so, it surely would make it easier to form up such lines. I've always been told copper lines could not handle the pressure for brakes, but don't really know about this alloy you used. Thanks.....
Hmm .... should have looked up the copper/nickel lines before I asked the previous question. JEGS has it, and it is DOT approved. Has the advantage of being much more flexible, plus is rust proof. Guess this old dog can learn something new everyday. Sorry ........ (grin)
Everyone I've talked to, that has used it, raves about the easy workability of it. On that site they list 3/16 line for $2.40 a ft in a 25' roll! That doesn't sound too bad when you consider the "no rust" aspect of the installation. Geez, I've got a 150" wheelbase and need 2 lines to the rear! Guess I'd better start saving my pension check! LOL
this weekend i made a heater box , i have salvaged the fan motor and heater core from the 03 silverado and wraped some new sheet metal around it. will route a 2.5 hose from the heater box to the cab with probably a duct on the floor under the seat, just to get some heat into the cab if desired.
