My latest, 3" Pewter striping brush pins.

2 posts on back, so they don't spin.

Trains and bikes are pretty cool to, Bob!
Unkl Ian; that brush is so cool. I can see stripers everywhere wanting one of those.

  5. Thanks Gary, hope you are right.

Nice start, Bob & Gary. Love the pin.

I'm compiling a calendar of British rods & customs for next year & here's the first one - John Proctor's Hemi-powered Model Y Ford.

    Happy Friday!

Old Tin Rods wanted an old school Roth-style original BOMONSTER design for their shop featuring one of their cars and their logo. I didn't have time to do a detailed sketch so I emailed a rough thumbnail and got the go-ahead to finish it with their instructions "just add a girl." Here's how I went from this...

    to this...

I work out the final drawing on paper and then scan and print. I transfer just an outline shape to the scratchboard and add details as I go starting with the faces - which can be tricky as one knife blade width one way or the other can look real funky real fast. Once that is done I go full bore scratching like mad until done.

Had the good fortune to be asked to do a design for a beach towel that the folks at Gumout will give away. This is in conjunction with their "Think With Your Motorhead" campaign you may have seen on TV and in ads.

I tried HARD to get them to bite on a traditional rod or something '62 or older but they ended up being dead set on a Chevelle. Guess that's something they think their target audience relates to.

So here goes. First concept I pushed hard for was this '32 pheaton running along the beach with a flatty Motorhead at the wheel.

Of course being a Mopar guy I had to throw an early Hemi design into the mix... Also wanted to throw in at least one vertical design just to mix things up.

I tell my youngest girl a bedtime story about my dad and his "flying" Jeepster and his Thunderbird Submarine that he used to free the Jeepster from the clutches of the evil Baron Von Ickystuffin... this design drew from that story. Yeah, it's "out there", but it involved the ocean and water, so what the heck?

Yeah, it's OT, but after all the ON topic stuff I tried to get them to bite on, we ended up with a muscle car convert. Fun job regardless!

This week's work. The Lone Wolf is painted on an old air compressor tank that I liberated from the scrap metal bin. I welded the fitting holes shut and it was ready for paint. Keep up the great work guys. Gary

Looks like a slow start, but good stuff so far. Always love your ideas Gary.

It's been a while since I have done anything HAMB friendly. This one is old enough, but is a Bug.

mlomaka, Awesome work on the bug. If I didn't have my 34 sitting in the garage I would have a nasty little bug like that. Gary

Awesome artwork can I post to this topic? I'm fairly new to forums so I don't know the rules of these things.

Always love your stuff Dan, and this was the pheaton that was the inspiration for my pheaton Gumout concept... so wish they would have used that one!
