    Denise,
Smokey Bones does have good barbecue but last year when we went there the service was abysmal. They were understaffed and it took us over an hour and multiple complaints to get our meal. I spoke to the manager and she said that they did not realize that there would be so many people in town that weekend--and how long has this event being going on? Greg Sharp and Larry Fisher from the museum had the same problem.

    Metal Man,
June 6th ??? The HRR starts on the 12th. If your camping, you'll get a good spot.

There's a Krystal right across the street from White Castle. We did both back to back for a taste comparison a couple of years ago....no guts, no glory.

Great show! Bring an umbrella if you do not want to get wet. It has been known to rain during the event.

I think you misunderstood. I was saying I won't make the HHR because I'm leaving for the L.A Roadster Show on June 6th. We're actually leaving Indy on the 7th, though:eek:.

I really enjoyed all the videos of the cars Holley put up from the 2013 Hot Rod Reunion but especially El Polomo. Bruce is a great guy from my experiences of him hosting the Decatur, AL cruise night and just talking at cruise in's and car shows. What Bruce said about his car and enjoying it is what I love about hot rodding! Have fun with what you have no matter what kind of shape it is in. You don't have to have a $10,000 paint job and the best crate engine with expensive chrome accesories to have a great time.

Here's a Youtube link to his video

It was a toss up.;) I like road food but some of the other guys not so much. We don't have any White Castles down here so we had to give it shot. Probably not going to happen again though. We still laugh about it and a have White Castle chicken ring sign in the shop.

Drove through Bowling Green on Tuesday. Wished is was a lot warmer and Beech Bend was my destination. Good news is we're now in the Florida Pan Handle and plan on meeting up with some Appalachicola Oysters.
