Thanks everyone, I've been away with summer & my 2 boys running around causing havoc in the house! With that said I have jumped on the 41 again. I've been gathering the rear suspension parts for an open drive line setup. So far a 56 rear axle with 3.55 gears & the 3 speed OD tranny with a 60's bell housing! Now just for a shock upgrade! Meanwhile I've been slowly ramping up for the 12v upgrade rebuilt the 12v generator from the 261 & picked up a 12v regulator with season selector! Pretty rare & cool!

    Your chop looks great!
That regulator is a nice "gizmo", definitely rare!
    I'm working on a '50 that will also have a 261.

It's a matter of taste, but in my humble opinion the car in the post #42 looks kind of miserable, whereas the car in the post #43 is nearly perfect.

Chop is right on. I like no bumper, but if you use one, I'd delete the bumperettes...looks much cleaner.

  18. I love '41's! The chop looks great! The only cars that look good without bumpers are gassers.

Hey everyone, it's been a while but I have started doing the chassis after a lot of procrastinating on where to start! Found me a 57 bel air rear end instead using the 56 I had previously purchased. I pulled the original rear end out tonite. I'm gonna get the the spring pads relocated & should be able to fab up a new shock mounting bar where the old knee shocks were bolted up to. I should be done with major rear end work this weekend & will be retro fitting the new 3 speed OD & new drive line by Sunday (hopefully)👏lol.. Will keep posting pics of progress through out the weekend!

I'm planning on doing ride technologies set up. No bags just a good stance is what I want!

  23. Looks good. That chop is fantastic!

  24. Love the look. Wish my 41 was chopped. I have all the chassis engineering stuff front and rear and a 69 Camaro rear. Just need to get off my butt. Looking forward to your open drive line mod. How low are you going?

Got the 57 rear end all back together, but still have to bring the stud back. I'm going to go with 2 1/2" first to center the wheels!

Had time to remove the old bellhousing & install the 50's truck bell on. Now to modify the trans cross member to make room for the new 3 speed OD!
