Only a few. I've declared a no fly zone over my house.

Thanks for the compliment! I really haven't done much yet.

Some people have chickens as " yard birds". The disassembled T-6 Texan is my yard bird. There are some C-47 engines cowlings, a C-47 rudder and vertical fin, and tons of other plane parts loitering around back there in the yard. The T-6 will never fly again. Its too far gone. But I do need to get it pieced back together and get her out of the weather soon.

Don't know about that T-6 never flying again. I've seen some beautiful restorations come out of not much more than a data plate. All it takes is a large bank account and the desire.

I did another concept drawing for this car today. This should be a fairly accurate drawing of what the finished product is hoped to look like. I'm waiting on a rivet gun to get here this week. If it does, I hope to have some of the body built towards the end of this coming week.

I worked on the exhaust today. Man, bending that 14guage with a double stack 14 gauge strip on each end was no easy task. It took a lot of ratchet straps, a 10lb sledge hammer, and torch to get it to round out into a 7.5" cylinder. I decided to build this piece using 1910's technology. The end caps were braise welded with with brass rod. I also did a bit of rivet work here and there. I decided to make the tailpipe dump straight out. So, I used two pieces of leftover 14 gauge and hand formed them on the anvil to make two halves of the tailpipe. I tacked them together with a MIG welder, then I braised them together with steel rod and ground down the welds. I'm pretty rusty on my braise welding techniques. There are no guts in the muffler. I just want it to be a big echo chamber. I now have to build the mounting brackets. I think I want to mount the steering column next to make sure there are no interference issues.

Here is a small amount of progress from this weekend. I cut down the Buick cowl and made the side filler panels. I made the floor rails out of 1/8" plate and tack welded the side panels to them. I still have to make the floor bracing and then I will rivet the edging around the body edge to strengthen it and to prevent me from cutting my hand off on the jagged metal.

No progress in a long time other than continually collecting parts. Major home improvement projects took up much of the past year. I got my right hand caught up in a 1/2inch drive this past November and broke the long bones in my hand. I was without out a usable hand for several months and it left me with nerve damage, so beating and hammering on steel is still of the table for the next few months. BUT, I'm NOT stopping on this project. Since they changed the "look" of the Hamb a while back, I can't figure out how to find any of the threads that I started and I just stumbled on this one.

Understand other projects getting in the way, seems like that's been the mode on my build for quite a while. Sorry about your hand, there's lots of nerves in there to damage, heal well. Looking forward to seeing how it comes together when you can get back on it. Love your build so far.

It sits in the carport collecting dust. I've become so busy trying to work on jobs to make money, that I haven't touched the speedster in a long time.

And yet sadly, you're still ahead of me. Good thing you have us to guilt trip you into getting your priorities straight and getting back on the speedster.
