I had 3 in October of 2012. Now I'm down to 1. Saves money on storage that's for sure.

In about 1972, I had two in the garage, four in the driveway and the wife told me if I bought another car, she'd leave. Heck, I had 3 stashed away in the parking lot at work. She did leave.....I miss those cars.

When my wife asks, I tell her just 1 more should do it...
41 Willys PU with a 40 for parts, 50 Plymouth sedan, 67 LeMans Sprint convertible, 74 Jeep CJ5, 78 and 85 Jeep CJ7s, 78 Trans Am, 81, 83 & 85 Mazda RX7s, the old reliable 89 LTD with an 87 for parts, and my wife's 03 Beetle TDI and 00 Wrangler plus all the extras that go with it like spare engines and such. Oh, and 11 motorcycles:eek:. Around half the stuff with wheels moves on it own power but not all those are roadworthy. And 11 garden tractors for snow plow duty and moving the non-runners. As for space? I may have a problem...;)

Never too many, as long as you realize you may not finish them all, unless you have drivers, but still nice just having them.

  14. I currently only have my '50 Dodge and have yet to have more than two classics at once in my 24 years of existance. I'm constantly looking for the next project, but when it comes down to it I can't really justify having more than one... Based on lack of time, money, and space. So in order to get another I'd either have to off my Dodge (which I guess I'm not ready to) or suddenly have a wad of money fall outa my ass. So for now ill keep checking the toilet for that money!

'63 Chevy short stepside. Owned it since '91, built it twice - stock the first time, custom the second, with a primer paint job. Need to finish the body work and paint it
Two 30/31 Model a coupes - need everything
    1930 Model A 2-door sedan - nice body - needs everything
1927 Model T hot rod - will be finished (as if they ever are) and on the road in time for the Stray Kat 500
1953 Ford f250 wrecker, FE engine - may get it on the road, may trade it off
1973 Nova SS - my son's car, but he's in the Marines and he left it here so I can finish the paint
    1945 Dodge 1/2 ton custom - anyone interested ?
1956 Cadillac Series 62 Hardtop - about to open that can o' worms. Will be a FULL custom and my ultimate keeper
1968 Firebird - 455 HO, turbo 400, leather, custom interior, needs paint. Fun as hell to drive
    1925 Dodge bucket - trade/sale bait
    1923 T bucket - trade/sale bait
I have 4 or 5 others but they don't really count. Still looking for more though :D

Other than grocery getters, I think 1 hot rod and one builder seems sensible as a minimum :)

When I lived in Mi. I only had a 2 car garage. 4 cars & 2 motorcycles. When i wanted to work on one of em' it became a pain in the ass to move all those just to get to the one I wanted so I got rid of 1 car. Now I live in Az. w/a big garage & 2ac. but only have 3 cars & the 2 motorcycles. Still a bit of a pain to move things to get on the hoist but I'm not complaining. It's warm here. I feel for you guys back east. You're sure gettin' your butt kicked this winter.

only have 3 now. sold off 2 project cars and a shitload of parts last spring. my caddy, 36 ford and 50 ihc pickup are at home in garages now. all 3 are finished (?) and now my toughest decision is which one to drive on any given day. i finally came to the conclusion that i was probably never gonna finish the projects, and that i rather spend my all spare time driving and enjoying the ones i have right now. no more projects for me, i'm done. time to drive, well, as soon as all this snow melts!!!

This is a lesson I can't seem to learn. Just when I take a step forward on one, something breaks on the other, and I'm sidelined again.

I have two projects and a daily driver, and it seems like between them, I'm always sucked dry. And I still see stuff almost daily that I want. Craigslist is such a b!tch.

    How many is too many?
For me; it is 2 more than I have (so I can always pick up a deal.)
For My wife; 2 less than I have.

The problem isn't too many cars, the problem is too small of a garage. I have 3 cars, two trucks an old & small 2 car garage, a portable garage from Harbor Freight and lots of tarps...

Wife's jeep, my dodge one ton and 57 chevy wagon. You can NEVER have too many cars, however you can have not enough room to store them all:D
