IMO the 33/34 Fords were the best looking cars Ford ever made. More graceful looking than the 32 and better proportioned. They look even better with an old school hemi under the hood.

34's are the coolest. if I were going to buy a pre-war Ford it would be a 34. if I were filthy rich I'd have several.

  4. My favorite by far. I LOVE 34's. Beautiful, graceful, tastefull. You guys can have the rest, I just want the 33 and 34 Fords :D

I agree I love the 33 and 34's. I've looked into buying a coupe or roadster lately. They are pretty hard to find. The only thing I can think of is that all the ones that weren't destroyed by the circle track guys were bought up in the 80's and 90's and turned into street rods

I built my coupe as a tribute to my dad who built his when he was 17 in 1953. A very swoopy car Edsel built for us all to enjoy.

  14. Just imagine the impact Edsel would have made had he lived longer.

"The 1934 Ford was a knock out in every single body style offered that year"

Very true, early Ford sedans were always my least favorite body style, but there is something so right about a 33/34 tudor

If I could go back knowing what I know now I'd colllect '33/'34 Fords instead of '32's. Don't get me wrong I still love '32's but time teaches a few lessions. Number one, there were a whole lot more '33/'34's built..........more cars and parts available. Number two, more space for the driver and front seat passenger. Easier to get in and out of with the front opening doors. Number three, and this is a personal preference, I like the '33 grille better than the '34. It has a more graceful look where the '34 says I'm going to kick your ass.:D

This maybe a shameful thing to admit on here, but could someone please school me on the differences (as far as quick ID) between the '33 and '34. Is there one thing about grille width?

quick easy ways to spot differences..the 33 grill has a concave to its bars..if it has a hood the vents are curved and like stated a hood handle in the center and no smokers vent on the B pillars of the door post..while completly oposite the 34 has Straight grille bars..Straight hood louvers (two hood latches)and Does have the smoker metal on the b post of the door

While I love all early Fords, 33/34's have always been my favorite.
    Henry's epitome of design.
The 32 3 window's door shape and suicide design hinted at what was to come.
When a swoopy, full fendered 33 is parked next to a full fendered 32 you can really see the dramatic difference that took place in a single model year. Part by part (grille, hood, cowl, fender) when looking at the shape and design the 32 looks much more similar to a 31 than it does a 33.
33/34's look good chopped or stock height in any body style.
And, IMHO, 34 was the last year to look good as a highboy. Sure, there's a few exceptions, but a LOT of work needs to be done to make a '35+ look really right as a highboy.

  25. Love that 34 roadster in the brochure as much or more than my 34 sedan delivery !
    Not so,
I have seen all of those 34's, bone stock in full Henry steel just the other day near where you work, well east Oakland kind of near. Have you seen them Jay ?

I like em both but I'll take mine in a 33. A tough design with delicate features. The 33 Victoria has it all over the 34 also. 34 looks like a plain ol flat back 35-6 body where the 33 has the classic bustle. I tend to view most of 'our cars' and cars in general in what I call "magic" years. Almost everything 33-34 is magic, and not many cars from that time are hard to look at or want.

HI; Does anyone notice that 35-36 comercial vehicles, should have been made in 1934 ? and 33-34 trucks look more like a 32 design. were they just late getting the 35 models out? THANKS Chris
