The Cortina Estate my son & I are building for him, he'll be 20 in March , the Fiat Twincam will be more than enough for the light weight English Ford, especially when I get the twin Dellortos working.

Well, that's good to know at least I was paying attention and never saw one.
Well now, there's someone's next custom car project to take on.

Picture of my 1955 Wagoon. Sold it 5 years ago. Miss it everyday. Awesome Car!

  5. Anyone with a '62 Plymouth Valiant wagon? That was our family car when I was in high school. Fire engine red and that strange early '60s Mopar styling. Now I dig it, but was embarrassed by it back in the day.

Osage, is that a family picture in your avatar? I've got a '41 Pontiac in the shop that I've been working on for years, but mine is a 2 dr. fastback.

  7. Yup! Family's first car. Wish I had it now, along with the '52 Henry J, the '53 Willys Aero Ace and the '62 Valiant wagon, all in succession as I was growing up.

The '29 coupe was my first car. Don't know why, but these long roofs are appealing to me now. Mostly drawn to the early to mid-'50s models, all makes.

here is my 64 olds f-85 wagon i bought with the idea of restoring it to resemble a car i drove when i was first married. but with so many other projects already started, i let it sit for many years. then when i tried to sell it last year for 400.00 the only offers i got were for way less so i just let it sit... the good news is that my daughter now 42 yrs. old. after hearing the story about the original car.. how i removed a good running 330ci. and installed a 425ci. i got from a low mileage 65 olds hearse (not to be mistaken for a hurst olds ha ha ha ). the wagon was beautiful with the bright red paint, some wide tires and chrome reverse wheels with baby moons. her mom who had a lead foot a very powerful car wrecked the f-85 with my baby girl in it while coming to pick me up at the barracks where i was stationed. thank god neither of them where seriously injured, but the car was completely destroyed... after hearing the story she now wants to restore the car back to be like the one she rode in as a baby for herself... i am really excited for the opportunity to both restore a beautiful car with the added advantage of getting closer with my really great daughter

    Great story Whiskey Runner.
A couple of years ago I found our old chopped 37 Chevy that my kids grew up cruising in. Now my daughter gets to drive it again like she did in high school and my 3 grandsons spend a lot of time "cruising with Pop" just like their mom used to.
Your pictures also helped me identify another option for the quarter glass stainless trim I need for a 66 Malibu longroof 2door conversion I am working on.
    Have fun with your build.
