You might want to check with the rules and post an intro before trying to sell your car.

    I had about 3 Custom 300's.
One I built in about 1966-67 had a 413 Chrysler and Torqueflyte. It was my first REAL built rod. It was a SLEEPER and a Street Sweeper! Most thought it was a bad running 292/312. Worst part was it kept eating trans U-joints. They were the old "ball & trunion" type if any can remember them. They were expensive in the '60's (about $30).

Great car, but no pics. Gave photo album to first old lady when we slip. Stupid move.

Hmm?? About fitting a big motor
...it sounds like nothing that a pair
of parallel leaf front springs, an
    early Econoline beam axle and
    some fenederwell headers wouldn't
solve!!!:D (For my "money is no object,

Ford 300, 2 Dr. sedan, (yeah, right!!)
    I'd prefer a dual-quad 427 high-riser,
or better still, a Cammer, even (!!)
    over a 460...but that's just me!!! :D:D

Yup, straight axle & side oiler or Cammer would be cool as hell! Missed out on a '57 with a 289 and 4 speed a few years ago, still kicking myself for letting that one slide.

  13. So I guess thats why I didn`t see Steve Pyborns(sp?) 57 at Mission this year. I mabe my first dragstrip pass in my 1rst 57 Ford Sedan Delivery in 1974, still love em!

  14. Bought this 57 Ranch Wagon in July. Had it shipped back to Michigan from California. Worth the shipping price compared to rust repair. Almost all the parts came with it.

Looks like a good score. As for the shipping cost vs rust replacement I totally agree with your viewpoint and have come to realize thats' probably my best choice as well. It only costs about $1200 to ship a car from San Diego to Hawaii. How fast would that $1200 get eaten up in a good body shop? Spent several months last year looking at various cars, including a '55 Ford convertable, '69 Ranchero, '57 Chevy pickup on a Dayco 4 wheel drive chassis, '57 T bird and a few others. The common theme was rust on wheels.
I hope you start a build thread on this car.

I like the 57 Fords, good looking body style and out sold the Chevy. Makes me wonder where they are all hiding, I think they rusted away.

    I own a 57' custom 300, it was my Dad's. Since I inherited it I replaced the 272 Yblock with a 69' 351w (sorry Dad), with a FMX tranny.
