wish I could post these pics a little bigger, but have problems doing so, even with the tutorials on here....might be my computer....Currently doing frame over....installing 5 speed mated to L88 427. These additional pics are still from fall 2013. Including picture of car before front axle mod and rear end spring mod.

Us Ozzies started making them in the late 20's early 30's, both Ford and GM; coupe utes that are still made to this day.

And many of us still try to persuade those two to bring them over. I've got my OT Commodore! (G8GT)

I was always fascinated with the Holden Australian Utes. One of my favorites was the 1937 Chevy one. Many of the early Utes resembled the American car designs. When I did my research for my 1956 Chevy build, I found the 56 Holden Ute did not look like a 56 Chevy so I went ahead and created my own design.

Raymay, that is without a doubt the cleanest cab/rear window execution I have ever seen on a tri-5 El Camino conversion! Very well done.

Thanks, I appreciate your compliment and glad you like it.
I looked at several conversions over the years and the rear window designs always seemed to be the problem area. Originally I had two design choices and although the first one seemed to be the easiest, while I was mocking it up it just did not look right to me. The second choice created a few additional challenges but it gave me the kind of factory look that I was going for. Some people have asked me if it was an original GM concept car. I just show them the emblem on my fender or the stickers in my doors with my own builders script.
You can check out my build here if you like.

Thanks for the link, very cool.
Too bad you can't post the two-door wagon on here as it's too new. Is that build posted somewhere else?
I have a factory '64 two-door wagon in slow motion progress, and the family car when I was a kid was also a '64 two-door wagon.

How about a 59 El Camino being awakened from a 40 year slumber.

It was just on eBay. Went to $8795 but did not meet reserve. Says it was on a suburban chassis.

That hurts my eyes. I believe in "To each his own" but in the '70s when the Street Freaks started to appear I never really got it. I guess its because I've always been tuned into the performance approach and never really gave a crap about the visual effect. Hopefully someone can save this truck. Maybe I'll Photoshop it to give it an early '60s vibe, envisioning a 409 and 4 speed.

Rough winter this year in the North East. Did not get a lot of build time on the wagon. I did find a site with some other HAMB members who also have newer Wagons and started a build thread there.
