Building a 56 Ford Pick up for daughter in High School?

1. Is tailgate the same between a f150 and f250 of that Year?



2. Any difference in long bed vs shortbed on gate?

3. what aftermarket gas tank works under bed?

hi there ,the 3/4 ton bed is longer wider and taller , sorry the tailgate won't fit ,not sure about gas tanks

 

I'm using a Mustang tank. Some bring the filler out in the bed which I dislike. I ended up using the original filler ad some steel tubing and brought it out in the bed support above the bumper. There's some good info on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts site. A good group of good threads. Hope this helps.

 

I used a gas tank from a Bronco 2. Not sure of the year, but I know it had an electric fuel pump which I didn't use. fit perfect between the frame rail.

 

If you use a Cougar gas tank, same as Mustang , but filler goes out Driver side.
