    Thanks very much, Herb!

Oh yeah - guess I forgot to mention drilling 1 inch holes and then joining them together to create 4 air inlets!

  3. I haven't done it yet, but I'm seriously considering having the floor and inside of my doghouse panels sprayed in Rhino liner. It is more of a "rubber" than Linex and should absorb sound well.

The walls and roof will get Dynamat with LoBuc Rod's insulation over that.

Looks good! The 240 air cleaner is a little different. here is a link to another board with the conversion.

I was thinking about spraying the inside of the van (floors and about a foot up the walls) with Raptor. The reviews make it sound pretty good, it's tintable, I can spray it myself, and it's a lot cheaper than Rhinoliner. I don't think it's really designed for noise reduction as much as it is for grip and protection though.

I just drove 260 miles from Los Angeles, CA to Dublin, CA with no issues at all besides a tired A$$. Went over the Grapevine no problem and did not reach half way on the temp gauge. Found my aluminum travel trailer and am going to haul it back 260 miles home tomorrow. I am crashing in a parking lot for the night

I had mine line-x'ed ten years ago and it still looks great. I also had some other parts sprayed inside too.

Boy these things are slow going when towing, However to be fair they are slow and steady. I should not be complaining at all this truck owes me nothing its dependable and as not let me down. I am just use to something a bit quicker. Pulled this over the grapevine last night and it handled it. The temp gauge never went past 1/2 way. I will miss it if it sells.

Googled them and they are 8 miles from me. If I do not sell my Econoline PU I am going to put those on it for sure. I thought they were cool when I was a kid. Have they always made them? I am from Sussex, N.J

Just saw this thread, got 2 early 60's Econolines pick up trucks and going to look at them this summer. I already deep in one project but the 2 econolines are at my disposal if I want them. I don't have current pics cause they are buried in the garage full of stuff. I want to know where to look on these trucks are common areas that get rust cancer/damage. Thanks

They rust everywhere. :) They're simple, unibody trucks with few hidden ares, so if you'll be able to see all of the rust. Only a few patch panels are made for these, but all the mechanical parts are available. Ideally you want a 65-67 because engine swaps are easier. It also increases your likelihood of having a 240 engine with a 9" rear end (everything else came with a 7"). That will make any Ford engine swap easy. The 67 dual MC will sell for some $$ as will any tailgate, if you're parting it out.

Do a search here or on the web. Lots of info. The easiest thing to do is buy a kit from D&D. I used one. Bolt on, common parts, works great, but you'll need to adapt a dual MC for a disk/drum car. Cheaper conversions are available by scrounging rare AMC parts, or more expensive ones.

    If it's a stock '65 then it has a 170 or a 240.

yeah, it's a 170. seems to all be there and runs pretty solid. Replacing a lot of brake parts this weekend, and then hitting the road to really see how it goes...
