i was looking through an older issue of Hot rod Deluxe, and I found an article about rolling neat designes into steel for door panels and such. My dad was looking at it as well and mentioned he had two old bench-clamp rollers, and he gave me one of them. Soon i'm going to be fabricating some panels for my project, and I realize that rolling a good bead in a piece of sheet metal increses its strength significantly, but I'm just looking for some basic tips on how to put good strenthening beads into, for example, floor pans. help? ccd

Then go up to Ryan's thread at the top on how to search and dig in...there are people on here who could bead-roll the Mona Lisa into an anvil...

Set it up and get at it on some scrap. That's the only way to figure it out. You'll quickly find it'd be much easier with a powered drive. Have fun.
