Late 70's caps? Not real sure, to be honest.

  9. Hey you guys, I work with "Straxle" here at CP-Carrillo. We drove this truck to work today, and its a sweet heart. Solid as a rock and good power. I believe he has and add in the cars/trucks for sale section, check it out.

Finally made it through the 2,903 posts as a great initiation to the HAMB. Here's Clyde my 1962 LWB Stepside C-10.

My brother drove it from AZ to OH in 1996. I bought it from him in 1997. It's a work-in-progress, project-car, shop truck. The engine has been swapped in it two times since I owned it. First a SBC 283, and most recently a 1965 401 Nailhead. Best upgrade is the T-56 6-spd transmission behind the nailhead. Double overdrive lets it cruise down the highway at 1,500 rpm nicely.

Next upgrade is replacing the wheels and tires. Thinking steel smoothies with Hoosier Pro-Street tires: 29x12.5R-15LT in front and 31x12.5R-15LT. What's the largest front and rear tire anybody's run without tubbing/modding the suspension?

I think mine ended up in Montana somewhere it had a louvered tailgate, push button remote entry, fuel cell in the back was jet black and deep purple, chrome was shorted up on the sides, bucket seats, original park lights were sealed and we put them down in the grill. It was a 66 Chevy Shortbox Fleetside. I have been looking for it ever since my stupid friend sold it. He could have sold it back to me.

Thanks Straxle, now I just have to spend the next decade working on the body, wiring, interior, paint, tires , stance (and it keeps going, which is really why I love having a good project truck).

Franky, I just removed the thick square washer on the bolt head side of the torsion bolt and then backed them off a ways. Rear is done by using rear Jeep Wrangler springs.
