    Tell me more on PM!

About Kirsten Flagstad, she actually had a 1938 Lincoln, but it was a K-series.

Nope. Not that car. But you have PM With what I was told, and where.
It may just have been a hoax attempt. But it should not be too difficult to find out if she had a Zephyr too.

A few updates: Finally got around to do the passenger side running board. With that done, pretty much all major parts are there, so now its time to do some details and finishing up stuff here and there. I cleaned up (nosed) the hood and leaded up some more body seams.

Hey Mats, how's about A-Bombers this year? Do you think you get this Ride ready till August?

I hope so, but I think it comes down to the engine. I've been trying to get it to start the last week, but I only get spark on six cylinders (the passenger side). It seems as all three of the coils I've got is faulty, but the distributor/coil design on these engines makes troubleshooting pretty hard.

I had to make a new front panel since the original one was shot in every way:

The car has been in an accident at some point, and had a bad repair job afterwards. I got started straightening it out to get the hood gaps withing acceptable levels this weekend.

Nice repair on the underside of the grille section, that part was swiss cheese.

I enjoy following this thread, the car just keeps getting better and better. I'm ok on V8 ignitions, but can't help at all on the V12's. Is it a problem with one set of points, or the coil do you think? It might be worth asking over on the FordBarn.

    Thanks!

Thanks, good to hear you enjoy my thread. Its can be one set of points, but they both look to be working as they should. I've interchanged a few sets of condensers with no difference, so that makes me suspect the coil. I'm sure I'll figure it out, all it takes is patience and maybe a few more spare parts :)

Super stoked about this latest score: a crack-free Zephyr steering wheel and a mid 30s K-series horn button. Talk about Art Deco!

As usual the almighty Rikster is right! Pretty happy about this find. It's kinda like a 37 Desoto unit, but not as common on Kustoms, and a bit more classy in my opinion. What do you think?

It does have a nice shape and flows well with your running boards in fact.

Awesome work but I wouldn't put to much effort into the nose until you have the grilles on hand, they are tough to fit properly. At least they were for me but I don't have your skills!

Your fenders bring to mind my '35 Dodge, and '37 Buick Special. Both had front fenders that, once the paint was off, had dozens of pinholes. This was back when the most sophisticated tool I had was an acetylene torch set, an 00 tip, and lots of brazing rod. I brazed each and every hole full. I still see the Buick around, and 34 years later, the fenders still look good!

Its been a while since my last update. I've been super busy buying a house, selling my apartment, and moving a lot of stuff I didnt know I had.

I've stopped by my shop to work on the V12 whenever I'd had the time. Didnt do a full overhaul, just tore off the heads and cleaned up things, making sure no harm was done if it fired. I wanted to use aluminum heads, but I one of them needed some repair, so I ended up using the iron heads for now. I'll probably use the aluminum heads when I rebuild the second engine I have laying around.

The distributors on these things are pretty challenging to troubleshoot. I have three of them, so I swapped parts back and forth until I ended up with a completely functional one.

Last night it payed off, it finally came alive!
