Well picked up a new project. It's not in the nicest of shape, but there isn't not any rot on the pieces I have. It's a 28-29 sport coupe, I traded a tow for it. Was the guys yard art, pretty common here in Havasu. This car is gonna be built on a tight budget. A 28-29 roadster has been my dream hot rod for awhile and this is the closest I've gotten so far. So if u happen to have a part I'm missing let me know and maybe we can make something work. And here she is home. The door handle and latch still work wonderfully well. From what the guy told me it was his yard art for the last 15 years.
You shouldn't have too much trouble finding the pieces you need. Can't complain about the price!!! Have fun. Tim
Got to get those parts in a box this weekend and I'll get you a quote. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Scored my drivers door and a frame complete with boxing plates and a 2" dropped front crossmember. And one wide five wheel. Stoked that I'm moving forward. Both complete quarter panels and the fuel tank are in the mail to me right now. All smiles here.
I have a project that began life as a Sport Coupe. Whoever did it way-back-when, shortened the doors to about the length of the true roadster doors. This brought the cowl back and allowed plenty of room for the flatty. Proportions now look better to me. Always thought the Model A roadster quarters looked too long.
Couple more pieces to this puzzle thanks to hamber wild bill I now have my gas tank and passenger quarter panel. My other quarter panel and the little tail panel that goes under the trunk should be here next week from ebay. All that's left is the trunk lid and windshield frame. If anyone has one let me know. Also need some 40-48 rear juice backing plates. I'm so stoked right now.
Yeah it was. The car was dudes yard art for the past 15 years. He said Dracula has been there for the last 5 years. So he said it had to stay.
Got my other quarter today. The little tail panel that goes below the trunk should be here soon. Need to make a couple patch panels but think I'm gonna disassemble what I've got and get it soda blasted first. Still need a deck lid. So if anybody has one they'd like to sell please let me know.
tearing apart the 38 banjo I got. Pinion bearings are froze up but all in all it looks good. Does anyone know what other years had the bones mount to axle tube brake mounting flange. I need to find a set. Next day off starts the sheet metal patching. Problem is next day off is about a month away. Damn tow trucks eating all my life.
Haven't been able to really work on the car lately. But got a free minute tonight to slap it together.
Just imagine the look on the guys face when you pull up at his place when you're finished with that thing! I love pieced together builds.
