History When did the 1 piece body glass paks first appear

    I'm talking the ones with the formed body instead of the older style like smitty's with the crimped ends. I tried to look it up in my old mags and cant find good enough adds

    we used them in industry back in the early 80's on welder units . and they were expensive then about 3x what they are now . so I would have to say late 70's

    Cherry Bomb came out in 1968, I ran them in the early 70's. I don't know if anyone made a similar design before that. Thrush had crimped ends.
     
  4. Right on. Years ago I had a NOS thrush one that still had the decal on it. Man, I wish I would of kept it. Yes, it had crimped ends - did not look like what we now are accustomed to calling a cherry bomb.
     

  5. Walker continentals. Predates all of this by years. Early 60's to my knowledge, maybe late 50's.

    I remember the Walker Continentals in the late 60s. They were blue. Cherry Bomb came later.

    I had "bullet end glasspaks" put on my 1st car in early '64.i believe they were Mitchell's.

    Michell , late 50s. Built his own hyd. swedger. Worked at that trade then .

    I got my first set in about 66, every muffler shop had loads of them. 24", 30", 36", 40".
