well I recently was out with a friend that I am building a hotrod with and I got a phone call from someone I know. he does things like property clean up and cleaning out rental property. well he said he had a car part that I might be interested in. I was on my way home and he lives a few doors up the street. I got there and in the back of his truck with some other stuff was a WEIAND manifold with 4 STROMBERG 97's. I look at it with a flash light and the first thing I asked him what are you going to do with it? he said," are you interested in it?" I said sure. I knew it was not new or that it was not manufactured in the past 30yrs. well as the conversation continued we came to an agreement that I could have it for $100.00. let me tell you I could not get the money out of my pocket fast enough.

look at the pictures and decide for yourselves.

was this a smoking deal or what.

    now the details,
this is a WEIAND manifold made between 1951 and 1953 for 4 STROMBERG 97's, for DODGE RED RAM and DESOTO 331's. also referred to as BABY HEMIS.

    enjoy and drewl on yourselves.

    THIS IS NOT FOR SALE

  2. Whadda mean its not for sale? But I got a Desoto hemi and no intake!
The Dodge and Desoto are not interchangeable, so you need to find out which one it is.

    Good score.

It may fit either a Dodge or Desoto...but not both.

What is the bolt pattern? LLLHHLLL is Dodge and LHHLLHHL is Desoto and Chrysler. Also, they are sometimes stamped Dodge, Chrysler or Desoto, or some abbreviation of that on the top in between the middle two carbs. As stated above it will not fit both Dodge and Desoto.

Great deal! My last one I got complete with linkage, fuel rail, 97's and air cleaners was a few hundred more a couple months ago. If sell it later let me know.

My son in law gave me one for a flatty. It was an old Edmunds with 2 94's and linkage. He had to give the scrap guy 10.00.

according to the information I got from the HOLLY tech line(and by the way HOLLY bought out WEIAND in 2000) and the picture from their archive of WEIAND catalogs shows what I feel is proof enough for me. call HOLLY and ask them yourself.

sorry still "NOT FOR SALE" homework and research has been done and it has a estimated value of $1000.00.

have you done any homework on this item yourself?

realize the add in the original post was from an original WEIAND catalog back between 1951 and 1953.

  27. Proof of what? That they are the same? Why does the Weiand Catalog you posted display two different part numbers for Dodge and DeSoto? It could be because they are different.

well I gave the HOLLY rep on the phone some information I put together and he told me these manifolds were only made between 1951 and 1953. these manifolds were never given a part number either cast into the item or engraved or stamped. apparently these were made exclusively for the Stromberg 97's.

by the way I also sent him some good photos to go with the phone call he received the pictures while we were talking on the phone. how is that for multitasking.....

also if you look at the name of the motors listed there is a number for the Chrysler and the Desoto and the Dodge.

the "W" is for "WEIAND" and the "D" id for Dodge and the "C" is for Chrysler and the "DS" is for Desoto.

Apparently this guy's sense of humor is pretty lacking.

By the way, who the hell is "Holly" and why is she providing you with intake application information?
