Can somebody put moons on my pickup to match my gasser?

Trying to decide if moons on both would make them seem even more of a matched set.
    thanks

Why not just take them off of one side of your gasser and put them on the P/U?

Damn! What a great and cheap solution! Maybe the caps off the pkp will fit the gasser! Then we'd have "Ford"s on one side and moons on the other.

The REAL question is, "Which side do we put the moons?"

Old cars and trucks are fun; ain't they?

Thanks for your thoughtful suggestion... you must still be listening to your gut!

    All the best!

I was reading the posts from the "AMBR 2014 Winner" thread, both positive and negative.......and for me, the winning phaeton, while exquisitely crafted, seemed to lack attitude. I thought the top was too tall, and I wasn't too keen on the red color and wheel choice.

Out of curiosity, I played around with it to see what I would have done differently.....in this case a lowered top, silver insert and different wheels. Subtle changes, but for me they make all the difference.

Uh...your gasser has 4 caps...take two off and put them on the truck - not forever, just long enough to see how it looks.

I think my gut's brains are at least as good as your imagination.

I thought running Fords and moon would be a riot!

No offense intended... I'm in a light hearted mode because it finally got warm enough to get back to work in the garage.

AND... the damn snow is melting!

    Thanks again for the help.

    Definitely an improvement!

  15. Yes, yes, yes. Really dig the grey. Not to extend the argument to this thread, I thought the car looked more like a late-1970s street rod than what's supposed to be the ultimate in car design. Your changes made the car more classy. According to current trends, those wheels would have to be custom-carved from billet, with the "hubcap" actually part of the wheel, and they would have to be bolted on from the backside! All while looking like something much simpler.

Thanks guys....it really goes to show what a dramatic difference a few tweaks can make in the overall aesthetics.

Nice car, though.....and congrats to the winner.

Great project! You'll find the Manor goes with hot rodding like…well, like a trailer behind a hot rod. What are you gonna pull it with?

Well Brian, our plan is to put a hitch on Sues' 58 Biscayne to pull the Spartan..
If that doesn't happen for a bit the '75 GMC 3/4 ton will be doing the honors.

WOW!..Ruben, thanks, just what Sue and I have been picturing in our heads for weeks!
The plan is a Hawaiian Tiki theme inside and the webbing on the outside will tie it together..We have gathered up most all the pieces needed to put this altogether..now it's just getting it done plus a few hundred hours polishing this baby..
wished it was as quick and easy as photoshop, for sure.
    Thanks again, Ruben

Nice. We have a '76 GMC one ton, but tow our Manor with the Diamond T or '51 Pontiac wagon. I bought a Huge Del-Ray truck cper for the GMC.

  29. heres an Idea for somebody that is bored and likes a challenge.
What about taking the Watson Cabover and mating the back of an econoline to the coe can to make a squarish Coe Van.
Maybe moving the wheels a bit forward?
