Getting the bell housing might have made it a bit easier. Really no help other than that.

    That's not a T5. GM did not put the T5 behind the 4.3l V6 in any S10.

You have a NV3500. You will note, it has an integrated bell housing. All T5's have removable bellhousings.

That said, the Chevy II 153 and 4.3l V6 have the same bellhousing pattern and depth.

It will bolt up, and you can use it, but you'd have to use a hydraulic clutch setup.

Gimpy is 100% correct.. nv3500 was used behind the 4.3

There is a big difference in the two apperance . The t 5 has a removable bellhousing were the nv 3500 does not.

    And earlier s10, s had a t 50.....

Learned!! You would need a M-Van for that combo.

Yup, and that combo ain't too common. The vast majority were automatics.

  12. Since it will bolt up, why not use what you have? It is the NV3500 as stated, but it has plenty strength for your Chevy II engine. BTW, it is also elec speedo

It is a perfectly good transmission. The only issue is the lack of a mechanical speedometer drive. If you can work around that. Just use it.
