These are the cool steel bushings I stumbled upon. These will be recessed into the underside of the forward leg of the a-arms (a-arm "channeled" over the bolts, if you will). A threaded boss will be recessed under the trailing leg.

    Wow this takes me back...

When I was a Cub Scout I built a pinewood derby car based on one called the T-Bug, from Hot Rod magazine. It was basically a hopped up & chopped up Model-T with a Bugatti type boat tail like this car.

I didn't win, but I had the most unique car in the derby. :D

I was talking to some people at the Frog Follies HAMB Meet and Greet about this thing. Hard to believe it has been over two years since I did something meaningful to this thing.

I went to the Bunny Run in Jackson, TN this weekend and found a gas tank that looks like it will work for this thing. It is a plastic fuel cell with an aluminum sheet metal cover. I can't find anything like it online, but it looks like it will work for me.

When I got home, I posed it for pictures. looks like I have room to move it up and back if needed.

Anybody have an idea what the goofy looking fuel cell was actually built for? I can't find another one like it online. 99% of everything I find is just a rectangle.

NO clue on the fuel cell, but I am waiting to see some updated pics of the boat-tail.

I've seen boat tanks similar to that.

I have been checking in on this build every few months for the past 5 years! Time and time again I think back to it because it is rad as hell and it is a bit of a life goal of mine to build something similar!

I think I'm ready to jump on this in a big way when the heat dies down.

  28. :D Stop teasing us and get busy. A lot of us are getting "older" and would like to live to see this thing done!
