I wasnt able to attend the GNRS this year so thanks to all that posted pics. If someone else has posted about this coupe, sorry I missed it. But what the hell is it?? It was in the Suede Palace and its a body style I dont recognize.
Tom, I think it started out as a Studebaker 4-door. Built by a father and son. Well-done, cool looking car. They were chosen for an award, I just don't recall which one... Malcolm
I was wondering what make of car it is myself, I am glad someone posted it , it's different in a good way, it's a 3 winder hot rod and I would be proud to own ! I don't know how much cheaper it would be to build something other than a 32-34 ford , I doubt very little , other than the purchase of the body !
I asked my buddy what it is? And he said it was a dogs breakfast - but a tasty one ! I still really like it !
done in the true spirit of hot rodding, piece from here, piece from there, no 1-800 checkbook stuff, and it all comes into a great conclusion based on sweat, inspiration and talent, most of us would be proud to own and drive!
Thanks Malcom for posting the link to Marc's article at lowtechblogspot. He did a great job explaining the huge amount of work it took to make this car. My father and I got it 8 years ago for $700 as a four door humpback sedan and somehow managed to hold onto the pile of parts until he decided to finish it off as a 3 window coupe. Its his daily driver and its a hell of a lot of fun.
. Cool car for sure. What grill is used on it? The blog says it's a '39 Lasalle, but I don't thinks that is correct. Anyone know for sure? .

Thanks Eric. Here are a few pics I took during assembly: http://lowtechblog.blogspot.ch/2013/02/roys-hot-rod.html
