    Hello all,

I have stumbled unto this forum a few times while searching info on sand casting and making retro gauges out of new fangled stuff and decided to register today.

Grew up around the racing culture literally (first race attended @ 2months ;) ) also imbedded in the Motorcycle culture as well.

I was blessed with mechanical commonsense and cursed with too many interests.... for a poor feller at least LOL.

I'm currently interested in racing motorcycles and cars from the 30's-60's (Bonneville-Drags-Early Nascar). As for Hot Rods... I can deeply appreciate the effort put into full restorations as well as extreme ingenuity and effort put into the period correct rat rods..... See what I mean about toooo many interests!

Due to available workspace and acculmulated parts, the next project is a Bonneville bound 1938 Harley Knucklehead. I intend to make it as close to period correct as the rules allow. Several castings will need to be made for my vision to be completed, and while I am an experienced machinst, home foundry work is totally new to me. Sheet metal work will also be on the menu unless I decide to cheat and go with fiberglass. I'll be sure to share the build with you, I'm sure my trials and tribulations will be enjoyed here.

It will be a month or two due to the Zoom Room being occupied by an engine build for a friends Harley, but as soon as I'm finished with that, the Knuck Project should begin.

Welcome from South Carolina. I was impressed when I saw the thread on sand casting. It kind of seems like a lost art.
