What ever happened to "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." If someone is insulted that easily and that thin skinned maybe they should go work on cars and toughen up a bit. Look at all the guys that do Rat Fink or Flying eye balls do you think Roth and Von Dutch are insulted? This hobby is about copying and making things your own or taking an idea and making it better.

I can't. They're both dead. :) But, their families/estates keep a pretty tight grip on licensing. You could ask Allison, Grundy, or Coop how they feel about it though.

Knowing someone was inspired by something you've created IS flattering, but merely copying it is just stealing. I suspect you meant you were going to build something similar rather than make a copy.

MY POINT was that saying "oh, I could do that" is insulting because you are devaluing an artist's work. You are basically saying that anyone can do it; that no creativity or skill was involved. Copying someone's creation is merely a technical excercise that lacks the creativity of the original. I know a lot of artists and none of them like being told that anyone can do what they do.

Make your own version. I look forward to seeing what you create.

Awesome! There are few things I enjoy more than a completely unnecessary pissing contest. I hope it totally overwhelms the thread.

    Meanwhile, back at Beachy Beach...

Jigger, this is one of my favorites from your entries. Here is the reason: My wife and I had a video business for a few years. One of our clients was a music teacher who looked and often dressed like the lady in this panel. We would tape the recitals and produce DVDs of the event for the parents to buy. I am not sure how any of the boys learned anything about the piano with her sitting next to them on the piano bench. Keep up the fun art that you share with us. Thank you.

Toughen up no one was insulting you and if I were you would know it. The lamps are cool I said I liked them a lot. I liked the one made from a banger distributor from the 1930's on American Pickers too. I didn't say I was going to make a bunch and sell them on eBay or here. Good luck I hope you sell a ton.

That blond is definitely hot. She looks like a dead ringer for "Rachel" from the Price Is Right. Great art work.

I did a sketch of what I would like my speedster to look like when it is done. I was mocking the real car up, and thought it would be nice to see how it would look before I went any further with it.

  21. Mmmmm… meat…. Here's a sneak peak at a personal project that, I assure you, will be H.A.M.B. friendly and in keeping with Kar Kulture but with my twist on the theme…
