Here are some shots of the intake I have been seriously working over for my Chevy ii banger engine in my my model a. I know that this is a big time case of cart before the horse but I needed a focal point for the build and this is it.
It started life as a Clifford intake for a 292 inline Chevy that I found on ebay. I got it home and promptly took a sawzall to it to make it fit the four banger. Welded up the hole and thought I was done I was told it would fit 2gcs so I got adaptors for 94holleys that absolutely would not fit this thing. Called Clifford found out why this manifold was made for three 40 webbers and lots and lots of rpms. So I had two plates made and welded them to the top. Clifford about had a small series of strokes when I told him what I did to one of maybe 100 manifolds he made. I just need to bead blast it and clear coat it and its ready for the rest of the car.

And once again the android app won't let me post any pics ...............

  3. Looks good.........that motor should sing. Did you check the surface of the welded plates? They usually need to be surfaced after welding to prevent air leaks..

  9. Very cool Willie!

Are there any other "later" 6 cyl intakes that would be good candidates for this?

I saw another clifford intake for webers that mounted them sideways that could be hacked......er made to work. Otherwise get out your tig welder and some tubing..........

Are you building the bottom end to match the top end?
