There is an old Mack, about 2 1/2 ton, in pleasant valley Nv.(just south of Reno on US395. The weeds are starting to overgrow it but I always thought that could be a nice tow rig, or motorhome (airstream body maybe?).

  2. Saw this one while driving thru down town Port Angeles today.

A very rare Nash wrecker in this group. We're only supplied to Nash dealers, the big trucks were a overseas product not available in the U.S.

That 57 is way cool! Big window tow truck, not much cooler than that! I came across a tow unit like the one in post #70. I can't find anything at all about these "marquette manual cranes". Now I'm not sure which to use on my TT, the Weaver or the Marquette! Hmmmmm..... I DO have two of those old trucks....

I some how missed this thread whilst searching the forum but what a great one this is and right up my street. This photo might interest you guys in the states its a Diamond T 980 originally built for the war office in WW2 and when surplus to requirements like many others were snapped up and converted to wreckers for civilian recovery
    cheers

Man what a cool thread, love that Mack, the springs and chain drive is awesome. My Dad had a 48 Ford with a real simple boom tow hook on it, wish I had pix. Thanx for all the posts, sweet! ~sololobo~

Anyone have anymore information about these Ashton beds? I just came across one that I'm thinking about buying, but it would be cool to find out some more info. A web search doesn't turn up much.

  15. My hometown Chrysler dealer, rumor has it that it's in a local junkyard.
