2 finished hot rods, 2 racecars , 2 project cars and always looking for the next one!. Cant imagine being married to someone who tells me i cant get more cars or that i have to hide my cars from. My wife doesnt care how many i get or how many i bring to the house. Shesd rather me be there than at a bar somewhere.

I learned a long time ago it's best not to list the cars/vehicles I have nor the guns I have publically.
The three Hamb friendly rigs have been mentined numerous times over the years and include the 48 Chev 3100, 31 Model A Victoria and an accumulation of parts that will be known as a 1919 Buick 2 seat race car style roadster in the next few months. There are other projects including one that gets to haul the other projects around and haul pieces for them and a couple that will get taken to a stage where they hopefully will get real interesting to someone looking for a drivable project to finish their way.

  4. I read a interview a few years back where Billy Gibbons was asked this question.
One is too many, but a hundred is not enough. Was his reply.

most think you cant have to many but just having a place to store and rebuild them is the biggest issue. But I Have 2 of them a 54 Hudson and a 49 ford truck haven't started working on yet.

I have 5 36 Studebaker dictator, 64 ford falcon wagon, 73 mercury comet, 95 suburban, and a 2007 Mazda 6. Only the suburban and the Mazda run right now they are our daily drivers. I would say you have too many when your wife is threatening to leave if you drag home another one. But in all serious I think it's a case to case situation. Depending on your room, how much time you can devote to the cars, and local laws about non running cars sitting in your yard are all determining factors.

57 Chevy Belair ht - daily driver - building for my son
57 Chevy Nomad - wifes - getting ready to go in shop
    57 Chevy 210 4dr wagon - Ollie Dean's old drag car - it's for sale
    63 Plymouth Valiant signet 200 - wifes
64 Plymouth Valiant - parts car
67 Mini - full race - built by Clive Trickey - magazine car in England 1967-72
    71 Ford F150 - daily driver

03 Mini Cooper - wifes daily driver

I need to get rid of some and concentrate on projects. Another thread asks how many over 63 have finished projects. I'm 63 now and hope to be able to finish a couple of mine. The wife is tired of waiting for me to do her Nomad, that's why it's headed for the shop. The one I really would like to finish is the 55 gasser.

It's like an alcoholic 1 is too many and 10,000 is not enough.

A T bucket and a '79 Olds Cutlass, for rainy days, that will probably get a SBC this year. My long term goals are constantly changing, but one thing is certain. I'll probably always have this T Bucket. It's the most fun I've ever had on four wheels. It's loud, can only seat two and rides like a mule, but it makes me smile when I'm feeling down and it's what I always wanted.

If I was to stumble into some big money, I'd THINK about building something else or just make this one better. I have a friend with four cars and it seems to work for him. Not for me. One's enough.

I recently sold a 1970 Plymouth Satellite and a 1937 Slantback Ford. I think I'll be selling the Regal and Mercury soon. I'm losing my free storage.

I have several. Now that I have a few acres they are easier to hide, and lose.

  23. I have 15 that could actually be considered usable cars. And I have decided thats too many.

1916 center door hot rod, 32 phaeton , 32 3/window, 33 phaeton, 36 3/window, 40 coupe and a chopped 46 coupe. I need to sell one so I can buy my kid a car and have some money to finish off the rest, ya I am 55 and reality sets in and ya , space is a problem and I can't decide whether to sell the center door or the forty coupe, sugestions are welcome

I have 4. And that's just about right. Two are for sentimental reasons. The other two because they are just fun to drive.
