VIN on a 49 Mercury

Other then the VIN tag is the VIN stamped any where else on a 49 Mercury?

 

Not that I know of but I was told the frame had a number possibly a VIN. Havent got mine off the frame to find out.

Slow I was waiting on an engine from Ebay and almost got ripped off I think they refunded me today I have to call them tomorrow. I still need to buy an aircompressor and get the whole car blasted. I am working on the front end a little at a time. I was trying not to use bondo. I am going to have to do the left front fender over and I am not that great with metal work so I am going to take it somewhere unless I get my welder fixed. I am glad you decided to keep it. That is one nice Merc and the firewall is awesome.

 

Not sure if your question has been answered, but there is a vin number stamped into the top of the passenger side frame rail just under where the kicks back.
